Can we get a count of how many times the video was watched ?
These types of analytics aren't currently being collected, but what else would you like to see analytics-wise? Here are some things I can think of that would be useful (others can comment here):
* View Count
* Demographic of Viewers (browser, OS, country)
* Number of people who signup from your video (number of referrals)
* Drop off time
* Unique view count + General count
@Marcin: All of these are great, but +1 for drop off time. I have been using OpenTest with supporting our customers. I love it, and our customers love it! It would be amazing to see how much the customer watched the video. A basic count would be great too! :) I could totally see this as a premium feature for sure.
@Jerry Henley: @Marcin no doubt we gotta get these basic metrics into the videos. Currently flying blind once you send the videos out to individuals. We want this just as much for ourselves as we want to deliver it for our users.
@Joe: (y) :thumbsup: ;)
Drop-off time would be absolutely huge.
If we could put our Google analytics code on it it would be amazing as well :)
Scott, is this just so you can get the view into Google Analytics or so that you can do some other nifty stuff? Just curious.
@vinay: Being able to put tracking code (Google analytics or tag manager) allows you to put pixels. to custom audiences, to send a specialized email sequences once someone lands on that page. It gives you the flexibility to do so many things. And to track.. is my process working?
Page views (distinct and total) are now shipped and we have email notifications for when your videos get watched for the first time. Check out the lower-right of the video in the attached screenshot. :-)
If you don't want these email notifications to go out, you can disable them for your videos here:
Thanks Vinay, I appreciate you keeping in touch. I'm waiting for the chrome/sierra bug to get fixed :/
@Marcin: same :-\
I'm trying my hardest to push the devs at Google to get this fix in sooner than Chrome 56:
Would be cool to get a weekly recap of:
Number of people who watched my videos this week
Avg. % of video completed for all my videos watched this week
Number of people who have signed up for OpenTest as a result of me sharing links with them
Fully support need/importance of having Analytics at ALL LEVELS.. from Marketing POV, suggest basic/free & paid/advanced levels of metrics
Zen could you expand on which types of analytics you would like? We provide view counts (unique and total) as of right now.
